I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break. I spent the week with my family in Alabama, and had a wonderful time.
We have a busy few weeks planned as we approach Winter Break. Here are the highlights:
- Students should be working on their Diversity Project at home. The typed report is due Monday, December 12th. Presentations start on the 12th; your child will be assigned a date for her/his presentation.
- The project description, rubric, and (added today) organizer are posted on my webpage:http://saemrsturner.weebly.com/.
- There is no Talk Back to the Book, or vocabulary homework this week or next week in order to give students time to work on their Diversity Project.
- In class, we are working on opinion writing - The Chocolate Milk Debate. The final copy of this writing is due next Friday, the 9th.
- Also in class, students have started reading novels related to The Great Depression. Students will be discussing the book, and completing a “Paper Bag” project with their Literature Circle group in class.
